Steers AAC offers professional development services that focus on education, AAC implementation, and full societal inclusion for kids with complex communication needs. We believe that every child should be educated alongside their non-disabled peers, regardless of ability or disability— and we’re here to make that happen!
Pragmatic Organization Dynamic Display (PODD)
Introduction to PODD - 2 Day Training
Our 2-day Introductory PODD Training is designed for individuals, organizations, and school districts. Led by our founder, Ali Steers, the only Certified PODD Trainer west of Colorado, this in-service is open to parents, educators, therapists, caregivers, and anyone who supports an AAC user.
We will meet for 8 hours each day to educate, inform, and enhance your knowledge of the PODD language organization and the PODD approach to AAC intervention as developed by Gayle Porter. PODD Trainings are capped at 25 attendees to ensure a highly engaging and interactive experience.

Academic Support for AAC Users
School Consultations and Trainings
Our school consultations are an extended service available to children currently receiving AAC therapy through Steers AAC. This support is designed to help your child successfully use their communication system in the classroom and throughout the school day.
Your child’s therapist will visit their school to collaborate directly with teachers and staff, working together to develop strategies that integrate AAC into everyday academic routines and social interactions.

Communication Book & Device Programming
PODD Book Creation
We provide fully customized communication books for children currently receiving AAC therapy through Steers AAC. Guided by your speech therapist’s recommendations and initial assessment findings, we carefully select an appropriate PODD template and begin a customization process that includes vocabulary selection, layout adjustments, and programming support. Each book is printed, tabbed, bound, and delivered ready for immediate use!
PODD Book creation is a collaborative effort between families, clinicians, and our dedicated PODD book maker/programmer. We invite input from school teams and other important people in your child’s life to ensure the vocabulary is meaningful, functional, and truly reflective of who your child is. Our goal is to create a system that empowers your child to talk about the things that matter most to them.
